CONFERENCE

What We Do

BELLARMUN 2025 is a two day Model UN conference for middle school students taking place on May 3rd and May 4th, 2025. Our conference is intended to teach skills such as public speaking, research, writing, and communication, through a simulation of the United Nations. Students arrive Saturday morning in Formal Business Attire and receive their committee materials (placards, name badges, notepads, pens, etc.). After Opening Ceremonies, the delegates take part in educational workshops. Here, they are taught the basics of international diplomacy, key research techniques, public speaking skills, and how to write Model UN Resolutions. By the afternoon, every delegate is properly prepared for their first committee session. The delegates then spend the afternoon in their committee rooms debating complex international issues similar to those discussed by representatives in the United Nations. After the committee session, the delegates and staff relax with the Delegate Social. Here, delegates are able to mingle with one another, participate in activities such as their favorite sport or board games, and even make some crafts. The next day, we jump right back into committee when our delegates arrive on Sunday morning. Debate continues until the afternoon when we hold Closing Ceremonies, where we recognize the hard-working delegates and their accomplishments throughout the conference.
